CSI: Las Vegas, CSI: Miami, or CSI: New York
72Some people watch CSI: Las Vegas. Some people watch CSI: Miami. Some people watch CSI: New York. And then there are some people like me who watch all three shows. Among the three, some may have a favorite for different reasons.
Even though all three Crime Scene Investigation shows are centered around forensics, the shows have different characters with their own methods of solving crimes.
As you watch any or all three of the shows on a regular basis, you can't help but get to know the characters as if you knew them in real life. When one leaves the show, you miss them for a while until you establish a rapport with the replacements.
Several people have left all three shows. Grissom and Warwick left CSI: Las Vegas. Several people left CSI: Miami and recently Stella left CSI: New York.
CSI
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (also known as CSI: Las Vegas) was the first of the three shows. This crime drama television series premiered on CBS on October 6, 2000. The show was created by Anthony E. Zuiker and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.
The Las Vegas criminalists use physical evidence to solve murders. Two other spin-offs are CSI: Miami and CSI: New York.
Don't think because the show is about Las Vegas that the location is actually Las Vegas because most of the episodes are shot on location in Santa Clarita Studios in California. Santa Clarita was originally chosen for its similarity to the outskirts of Las Vegas.
One would think Ray Langston replaced Gil Grissom as the head of the team, but the team leader is Catherine Willows.
CSI is in its eleventh season, and has been recognized as the most popular dramatic series internationally. CSI's worldwide audience is estimated to be well over 73.8 millionviewers.
CSI airs on CBS on Thursdays at 9:00 p.m.
CSI: Miami
CSI: Miami (Crime Scene Investigation: Miami) is in its ninth season. It premiered on September 23, 2002. It is a police procedural television series that uses forensics just as the veteran series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation in Las Vegas.
It is interesting that even though the show's action does not take place in Miami. The indoor shots take place at Raleigh Manhattan Studios in Manhattan Beach, California. The majority of the outdoor scenes are filmed in Long Beach, California, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach giving the pretense that the show is taking place in Miami-Dade, Florida.
CSi: Miami is a little different from CSI: Las Vegas because the Miami CSI team consists also of police officers as well as forensic investigators. Like CSI: Las Vegas, all the characters have their own specialty. For instance, Horatio Caine (affectionately known as "H") heads the team. Second in command Calleigh Duquesne who knows her guns and bullets.
CSI: Miami airs on CBS on Sundays at 10:00 p.m.
CSI: New York
CSI: NY (Crime Scene Investigation: New York) came on board four years after CSI: Las Vegas and two years after CSI: Miami, CSI: New York premiered on September 22,2004 on CBS. It, too, is a spin off of the veteran show CSI: Las Vegas.
CSI: New York is a little different from the other two shows because it follows the investigations of a team of the New York Police Department forensic scientists and police officers. They investigate and solve crimes behind mysterious and unusual deaths as well as other crimes.
The CSI: New York team is headed by Detective Mac Taylor and his newest partner Detective Jo Danville, an experienced investigator who shows empathy for the victim.
CSI now in its seven season airs on Fridays at 9:00 p.m. on CBS.

It was so interesting that last season there was a three-part episode that started out in CSI: Las Vegas, then the team combined with the CSI: Miami team and it ended with the CSI: New York team. It was good seeing all three teams working together. I would like to see that happen again.

I am a CSI fan. My first love was the Las Vegas team, but now I switched over to NY. The Vegas show uses such dark lighting that it bothers me. I like Mac as leader and am loving Sela Ward as the newest cast member. Last night's show was GREAT!
And NCIS and NCIS LA, I like the original best of CSI Vegas, though with my hours I rarely get to watch.
I know I can follow from the computer or even dvr it if I need to but still it is finding the time to watch.
I'm a fan of the shows.
revmjm: I have totally enjoyed all three shows. I enjoy seeing how criminal investigation over the years has moved forward, but the one constant still remains. Police cannot solve crime without the involvement of the citizens, firstly to commit the crime and then to help solve it.
I love CSI Vegas and now I am really into the NY show. I am big fan of the cast on the NY show. They mesh very well together. I just can't get into the Miami one. I think it has to do with Caruso. He is a little cheesy at times. Great hub!
i love the show too, it always remind me to be vigilant and be observant..sometimes out of desperation of many unsolved or delayed justice in real life the shows showed us the have hope in our justice system wherever we are in the world..crime solved in csi will be closed after the show ^_^
revmjm,
Hi, and thanks for writing about three of my favorite shows.
Each show has a good storyline, and the actors are great. However, sometimes I have to close my eyes, the sight of blood real or not-- is a little too real for for me.
Have a Great Week,
Bobbi
I watch those shows with a skeptical eye. For example they found enough skin sample from a rock left outside a busted window in the hot deserat sun from a year ago to get a Dna match. I don't buy it.
I also find it funny how the lab people know EVERYTHING. They find a fish inside a corpse's belly, put it under a microscope and the lab person knows right away that it is a rare jungle stream species from brazill, HA.
Horacitio Cane needs to realize the constant sun is messing with his light completion and eyesight. That is why he always wears sunglasses and stares off to the side as he talks to a suspect. He needs to transfer to a more northern climate
i was a great CSI fan to a lot of the show changed. i believe they lost me when they killed off warwick. however, i am still watching miami and ny versions. thanks for a nice hub on a great show. voted up.

I like to watch some of these shows now and again. They are interesting but I do get turned off when on occassion they use a certain situation to push a political point and try to persuade you a certain way. That I don't care for and they do it once in awhile. Aside from that I enjoy them now and again. I really like the new series with Kathy Bates as an under-dog attorney. I am really liking that show.
Nice hub. Thanks for the good read.
